Pearls of Bhagavat Gita - Chapter 1.31

Bg 1.31

nimittāni ca paśyāmi
viparītāni keśava
na ca śreyo ’nupaśyāmi
hatvā sva-janam āhave

Translation:

Hey Keshava, i see only bad omens. I do not see any good in killing our own people in the war.

 Import:
1) keśava :  a) Killer of Kesi Demon
                b) Klesha Nashanah: That is Keshava Tiru Nama of Bhagavan can remove our papam (sins)
                  c) One who is the controller of both Brahma(ka) and Siva(Isa)
                  d) One with nice beautiful hair.

Q 2) Here does the bad omens meant by Arjuna means; he was afraid that he would get defeated in the war ?

Ans) No, Arjuna knew nothing like defeat. But he was overwhelmed with compassion  that he felt something wrong was going to happen to his Kula (Dynasty), to his country. As an ideal Kshatriya he considered these problems as his own problem.
