Pearls of Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 1.11

Bg 1.11

ayaneṣu ca sarveṣu
yathā-bhāgam avasthitāḥ
bhīṣmam evābhirakṣantu
bhavantaḥ sarva eva hi

Translation: 

All of you must now give full support to Grandfather Bhīṣma, as you stand at your respective strategic points of entrance into the phalanx of the army.

Import:

1) Each and every person has their respective duties in their respective varna and ashrama to which they belong. One must not consider one position  as superior to and inferior to the another.

2) Similary our shariram has different openings belonging to the different senses which every atma must carefully protect  against the allurements of different sense objects in the form of sabda(sound), sparsa(touch), rupa(form), rasa(taste) and gandha(smell).
